What is Ultherapy and What Can it Do for My Skin?

A facelift — without surgery. Sound too good to be true?

Ultherapy is a newer treatment comparable to a facelift, no surgery required. As we grow, our bodies naturally show signs of aging. It is common for people to feel less confident in their skin as it begins to wrinkle. There are many medical and dermatological options for those looking to improve the appearance of their skin, but some procedures may seem too complicated or painful.

At MD Health & Aesthetic Clinic, it is important to us that all patients feel comfortable and confident in their skin, which is why we offer ultherapy treatment services.

What is ultherapy?

According to Ultherapy.com, “ultherapy is a non-surgical ultrasound treatment that counteracts the effects of gravity on your skin.” In other words, ultherapy is a non-surgical facelift procedure which reduces common signs of aging such as skin laxity, sagging, lines, and wrinkles. It is the only non-invasive face-lifting treatment cleared by the FDA.

Ultherapy is not exactly like a facelift surgery, and won’t produce the same results, but is an excellent alternative for those looking to extend the effects of their surgeries, or for people who are not comfortable with a surgical procedure.

How does ultherapy work?

During ultherapy, ultrasound energy bypasses the skin’s surface to stimulate collagen production, a process called neocollagenesis. The procedure usually takes around 60 to 90 minutes and does not require any recovery/post-treatment measures. As your body naturally regenerates collagen, the results will begin to take place over the following two or three months. The treatment’s lasting effects differ from person to person; after all, everyone has a different body type and aging processes. However, most people require only one ultherapy treatment. The results include smoother skin, decreased sagging, and an appearance of weight loss and health in the face and neck.
